Due to the advantages of its Redmi budget series and the ability to continuously improve the features and specifications of expensive phones, Xiaomi today is Xiaomi today. The company prides itself on how its particular Redmi Note model has consistently focused on reasonable prices and exciting features such as increasingly beautiful cameras, larger batteries, and higher-quality displays. Redmi Note 9 Pro has just been released and fans have been waiting for weeks to find out how Xiaomi will raise the bar again.

Given the huge success of its predecessors, Redmi Note 8 Pro (Review) and Redmi Note 7 Pro (Review), it is not surprising that Xiaomi has updated its product line. The new competition in the form of the latest model of the Realme 6 series and Samsung M series brings some interesting options: Redmi Note 9 Pro is not pursuing a better appearance than every other small form factor, but packaging. Overall, it improves essentials and keeps prices low.
Let’s start with the look of the Redmi Note 9 Pro: Xiaomi has unveiled its “Aura Balance” design philosophy, which eliminates stunning patterns and gradations for a simpler and more elegant finish. The theme of the race here is symmetry – the rear has a quadruple square module, with the flash and the Redmi logo centered below. According to Xiaomi, the weight distribution is also perfectly symmetrical.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro will be available in Aurora blue, interstellar black and ice white. The finish is very shiny and reflective, and we have to say that our Aurora Blue unit is much brighter and clearer than the picture on the box makes it appear. We found that the finish was very sensitive to fingerprints. The frame also has a matching color and is made of polycarbonate.
Although the Redmi Note 9 Pro doesn’t look like a budget phone, it’s not the easiest device to hold and use. It’s 8.8mm thick and weighs 209g, which is way above average. The back bends only very slightly on the sides. Fortunately, the back is not slippery, so it is not difficult to grab this phone.
The four smartphones marketed with the Redmi Note 9 series will likely host the configuration with four cameras on the back. According to the leaks, unlike the usual vertical positioning of the cameras, the Redmi Note 9 phones will have a square-shaped camera island, something similar to what we have seen in the iPhone 11 Pro and Galaxy S20 series.
The Redmi Note 9 will be powered by a Snapdragon 720G processor, while the Redmi Note 9 Pro will have a MediaTek Dimensity 800 processor. The specifications of the Note 9 Pro Max are still in progress. The Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro will house 5000 mAh batteries under the hood. The Redmi Note 9 will have three different variants, such as 3 GB / 32 GB, 4 GB / 64 GB and 6 GB / 128 GB
